This website contains historic primary source images and text as well as background information that provides historical, cultural, and literary context to significant events in American history. Additionally the site contains video and audio presentations utilizing professional actors impersonating historical figures and reenacting historical events. The site also contains lesson plans and curriculum units to help educators incorporate these materials in their classroom instruction.
The site was developed by a collaboration of museums, libraries, individual educators and scholars, and school systems. More specific information on the collaborating partners may be found under the "About Us" section.
